Use heated lotion to treat extra dry skin

". . . heat maximizes the benefits of your lotion by helping its moisturizing agents penetrate your skin more deeply."
Warm lotion is an extra luxurious and effective treatment for dry skin. First, line a microwave-safe bowl with saran wrap (it makes for easy cleanup). Then put about 2 Tbsp. (or more) of your favorite lotion or body cream into the bowl and zap, uncovered, in the microwave for 5-10 seconds.

Take extra care to make sure that the lotion is not too hot. To avoid burns, do not apply the lotion if it is fully melted. The consistency should still be thick and the temperature should be comfortably warm — not hot — to the touch. Apply the lotion as you normally would. The heat maximizes the benefits of your lotion by helping its moisturizing agents penetrate your skin more deeply. Plus, it really feels fantastic! This trick is also great to use if you're giving — or getting — a massage.

Again, please exercise caution when heating and applying a lotion or massage oil!
