Maximize Your Mascara for Thicker-Looking Lashes

For fuller, thicker-looking upper lashes, try applying mascara to both the top and bottom sides of your lashes. Before applying mascara to the underside of your lashes (like you normally would), sweep one coat of mascara over the top side of your lashes. Rotate the wand as you move it from the roots to the tips of your lashes to help distribute the mascara evenly

This technique maximizes the effect of your mascara by coating your lashes more fully. More mascara simply equals more volume.

On the other hand, more mascara also means a higher risk of getting clumps, so make sure you have your trusty eyelash comb handy. A good lash comb is essential if you're going to try to fatten up those lashes. For more information, check out our tip on how to choose an eyelash comb.

Another way to cut down on the nasty clumping problem is to try using this technique with a clump-free, lengthening mascara such as Max Factor Stretch and Separate or Maybelline Lash Discovery.

If you've ever fallen in love with one of these types of mascara, but wish that they could offer just a bit more thickness to your flirt fringe, then this may be just the trick you need to achieve that extra bit of volume.
